It’s ME!!

HI! My name is Robin. I am an educator, a mom of 5, a wife, a reader, a craft lover and a blogger. I have taught for 17 years, raised kids for 23 years, been a wife for almost 25 years. I have been blogging for a month or so. I have thought about blogging, I have written articles/posts and scrapped them, for oh, years now. I’m not sure why I have finally started doing what I have dreamed about for years, but I am so excited and nervous to share my wonderful world of raising a family, loving kids for a living and sharing my life with my bestie.

I was raised as an army brat (that means my dad was career army and I moved a lot) so I have lived in several different places, I love to travel! Because we moved every three years, I tend to have a different perspective on lots of things. I grew up in Germany and England and finished high school in Maryland. I moved to Texas to attend college, and I have not moved out of the state, since.

I have 5 children. My eldest has special needs, a chromosome anomaly, that manifests itself as an intellectual disability with all kinds of bells and whistles. This kid is amazing and is the personification of what high expectations coupled with a tremendous work ethic can do. My middle oldest or baby as he was called until we adopted his younger brother and sister is a college student. He lives three and half hours away and is exploring what it means to be an almost adult. My third oldest son is in high school. He is involved in a variety of sports and just began driving. My youngest, baby girl, was named princess when she came home. She is also in high school, plays sports, is very petite and loves her tuba. We refer to these two as The Babies. They came home when they were two and three years old. The newest addition, joined our family at Thanksgiving, is beginning middle school and is learning how to survive in a very loud, very active family with lots of strong personalities.

I hope you will find my blog, uplifting, informative, heart wrenching at times, funny at others. Please bare with me as I learn how to post, and traverse this new adventure for me.
