My favorite meatballs, not your momma’s meatballs. Growing up, my mom hosted parties, we never had a caterer, we cooked. Meatballs were a staple. Served in a warming dish with toothpicks, we would triple and quadruple the recipe. She would have my sister and I dress in black skirts or pants, white shirts and a fun little apron.  We would circle the guests at the party, refill the trays from our fridge and meet and greet her guests. As an adult, I no longer make my own meatballs from scratch (like mom used to do) I do run to the store and buy a bag of frozen meatballs and voila, I’m in business. Now, these meatballs, are not the standard, they are sweet. These days, you could use serve them in a crockpot for a gathering. I always make them on the stove. My kids love to eat them! I make them, they eat them straight out of the pot, fix themselves bowls of meatballs and if I have leftovers, they go in the fridge as a great after school snack!

I promise, this recipe is about as easy as it gets!

Meatballs

1 pkg of frozen meatballs from your local store.

2c. Ketchup

2c. Red wine

1c. Sugar

8 Tbsp Vinegar

8 tsp. Worcestershire

Bring the ketchup, sugar, and liquids to a boil. Carefully add in the meatballs (I throw them in frozen) and boil for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let them cool to a temperature that you can pop them in your mouth. They are even better if you make them the day before and the meatballs sit in the sauce absorbing the flavors.
